# Can I avoid losing my license after a DUI in Rhode Island?

Yes, it is possible to avoid a total loss of driving privileges, but you cannot entirely avoid license consequences after a DUI conviction in Rhode Island. While you do not automatically lose your license upon arrest, a conviction typically results in a suspension of 30 days to 18 months.
